This last week was Theory’s first week at kindergarten.  Tara and I walked here down the street to the end of the block to the school.  Flocks of kids with parents in tow, or alone on bikes, many with oversized backpacks slung too low, all converged on the school.  Win wanted to come with but for some reason, it felt right for it to be a private experience for Theory with Tara and me.  Of course, when it is Win’s turn to go, he will not …

For one, I am interested in molecular gastronomy from a purely intellectual standpoint.   Understanding how glutton molecules make my ricotta pancakes fluffy makes the world around meet more vertically integrated, knowable, and comforting.  Plus I want to optimize the fluffiness of my pancakes.

The torrential rain has stopped and it is starting to warm – so the two orders of business were the grill and the garden.
After many months of research and debating, scouring the internet, and just thinking about it – I finally ordered a grill.  I wanted stainless steel burners, good quality machining, some customer service, and no extras.
