Hi! I'm so sorry that this happened to your baby. Something very similar just happened to my baby, only with socks. It happened a couple days ago, and seems to be getting worse. I don't want. Be too nosey but, did these scars disappear? I'm thinking I'll be calling the doctor in the morning to see if there's anything I can do. I was expecting it to be gone the next day, but everything I read sounds like it'll be here for a while. I'm a little nervous about putting socks on her again since I had no clue until I took them off. Thanks for any info you can give me.

Thank you for sharing this. I am about to request the gap-exception from UHC to get in-network for the midwives I want, so it's good to have some inkling of what is to come!

My daughter's school had a huge debate over the types of beverages should be available during fundraisers. It waffled between juices, water only, soda and diet soda. Even when the majority voted for the soda and diet soda options, the minority voters cried foul, and were spurred on by the single mom who says her kids "hate" soda and only drink juices.

I've never met a kid who "hated" soda, but juice is loaded with unnecessary, and unhealthy, amounts of sugars. So, the compromise? A little bit of everything. Everyone decided that is was really up to the parents, and not the school, to make sure the kids stick to the healthiest choices.

I am not sure I agree. I think that there is a point at which the state should interceded. Ear piercing, no... Male circumcision, probably no but very close to the line. Elective amputation of a limb, yes. Female circumcision, yes. Part of the equation is the role of the medical establishment, for better or for worse. Like with many things, I feel that the edges are fuzzy. As with free speech, when at the boundary, I would default to no state intervention. But that is just my personal POV>

At least you know what they are about....at other schools, every teacher will have a different view that they will introduce to your child.
As a Waldorf parent I appreciate the blessings....specially since we're not religious...we can say a blessing without it being religious.
There are always two sides to everything. For every bad article you will find on any subject you will find one that is positive. I encourage you to read more about Waldorf...not saying that it is perfect, but I have not found one better.
Anyway, I hope you find the best school for you and your child.

Thanks for sharing. We now have United Healthcare in CA and I'm not finding any in-network midwives.
This has been very helpful.
