It was a wonderful treat to have Ari, Tara and sweet Theory visiting our great city (urban planning not withstanding). It was particularly sweet to have them sleeping at our home for the 1st 3 nights.

It's not just the weather that makes "LA The Place" to coin a 1980's phrase. Just as New York have a certain energy LA also has a destinctive vibe. People who track these trends call LA a 21st Century City. Probably because of the hugh influx of non-white and non- native residents (both legal and illegal). This cultural mix adds a certain flavor to this large, spraling and seemingly endless city.

However, back to family issues. Lois and I share three children who live in New York and Boston. So we are always travling to one of these cities to visit our children and our grandchildren. So to have them come to our home is a special treat.

This Thanksgiving Lois' two children and their families will be in LA. This is the first time in well over a decade that Lois has her family together on this special holiday. Their presence plus Edna, my wonderful mother-in-law, will make this a very special Thanksgiving holiday.

So we hope that Ari, Tara and Theory will come back to the land of fruits and nuts real soon. We already miss them soo much.
